Holy cow, people. This round up required MULTIPLE GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. Thank you to everyone who posts, reads, and\/or spreads the word about Flannel Friday. We have had a super two years and are set to keep on rolling! You are even more awesome than Girl Scout Cookies. <\/p>\n<p>Here is our NINETY-SEVENTH Round Up. Anyone up for another celebration when we hit 100? \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n<p>Anna at Future Librarian Superhero found an incredible felt version of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.futurelibrariansuperhero.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/hi-pizza-man.html\" title=\"Future Librarian Superhero: Hi Pizza Man\" target=\"_blank\">Hi, Pizza Man!<\/a> in the files at her new(ish) job and knew she had to show it off. Someone had patience, talent, and flair to put these together!  <\/p>\n<p>Anne at So Tomorrow continues to rock the shadow puppets with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sotomorrowblog.com\/2013\/03\/dog-and-his-bone-shadow-puppet-story.html\" title=\"So Tomorrow: The Dog and His Bone\" target=\"_blank\">The Dog and His Bone<\/a>! She says this was a good story to use when you are just getting started with this technique<\/p>\n<p>Cate at Storytiming puts a lovely new spin on Flannel Friday with a video of her signing a song for her toddler storytimes. <a href=\"http:\/\/storytiming.com\/2013\/03\/15\/flannel-friday-song-for-you-signing-song\/\" title=\"Storytiming: Song for You\" target=\"_blank\">Song For You<\/a> is simple and sweet, and it was a perfect lullaby as I worked on this round up Friday night! <\/p>\n<p>Dorothy at The Wielded Pen is back with <a href=\"http:\/\/the-wielded-pen-childrens-corner.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/old-bears-seasons-flannel-friday.html\" title=\"The Wielded Pen: Old Bear\" target=\"_blank\">a flannelboard tribute to Kevin Henkes&#8217; Old Bear<\/a>. Go look and see how many individual pieces they created to make sure the kids had lots to play with! <\/p>\n<p>Jen in the Library has a rhyme and some <a href=\"http:\/\/jeninthelibrary.com\/2013\/03\/15\/flannel-friday-birthday-extravaganza-five-birthday-candles\/\" title=\"Jen in the Library: Birthday Candles \" target=\"_blank\">birthday candles<\/a> for us to blow out and is getting me hungry for cake. Hmmm, cake&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>K at Storytime ABCs <a href=\"http:\/\/librarystorytimeabcs.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/its-birthday-just-for-you-it-is-flannel.html\" title=\"Storytime ABCs: \" target=\"_blank\">shares a special celebration song<\/a>! She says it makes her think of Flannel Friday and smile! <\/p>\n<p>Kathryn at Fun with Friends at Storytime shares what is now my all-time favorite version of <a href=\"http:\/\/kdr4xmom.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/yummy-for-my-tummy.html\" title=\"Fun  with Friends at Storytime: Yummy for my Tummy\" target=\"_blank\">Five Little Peas<\/a>. *swoons a little at the googly eyes* She has a lot of good ideas for a healthy foods theme too! <\/p>\n<p>Storytime Katie is saying a big thank you to Flannel Friday with a flannel for <a href=\"http:\/\/storytimekatie.com\/2013\/03\/15\/flannel-friday-thanks-a-lot\/\" title=\"Storytime Katie: Thanks a Lot\" target=\"_blank\">Raffi&#8217;s Thanks a Lot.<\/a> She reports her storytime kids loved playing with the pieces! <\/p>\n<p>Kendra has a fun way to get all the families involved in <a href=\"http:\/\/klmpeace.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/15\/flannel-friday-spider-on-the-floor\/\" title=\"Read Sing Play: There's a Spider on the Floor\" target=\"_blank\">There&#8217;s a Spider on the Floor<\/a>. I would have to be very brave to deal with all the spiders in the audience though! She has a <a href=\"http:\/\/lisaslibraryland.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/flannel-fridays-2nd-anniversary.html\" title=\"Libraryland: Four Pretty Presents\" target=\"_blank\">Four Pretty Presents<\/a> counting rhyme with nice bright packages and pretty bows. <\/p>\n<p>Lisa at Thrive After Three takes us back to the basics for our celebration with a detailed post on <a href=\"http:\/\/thriveafterthree.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/14\/how-to-make-a-flannel-story\/\" title=\"Thrive After Three: How to make a Flannel Story\" target=\"_blank\">how she makes her felt sets<\/a>! I love the crowd-control techniques that she incorporates; very smart. <\/p>\n<p>LQ at Loons and Quines at LibraryTime delivers a <a href=\"http:\/\/loonsandquines.blogspot.co.uk\/2013\/03\/flannel-friday-happy-birthday.html\" title=\"Loons and Quines: Happy Birthday \" target=\"_blank\">special birthday cake<\/a> and a little song. She sings this song whenever one of her group has a birthday! What a wonderful way to make a child feel special and happy about the library. <\/p>\n<p>Miss Mary Liberry also gets the kids talking with her <a href=\"http:\/\/missmaryliberry.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/15\/happy-2nd-anniversary-flannel-friday-rhyming-pairs\/\" title=\"Miss Mary Liberry: Rhyming Pairs\" target=\"_blank\">rhyming pairs<\/a>: first she asks the kids to describe what they see in her images, then she points out they are using rhyming words! Sneaky AND fun! <\/p>\n<p>Mollie at What Happens in Storytime shares <a href=\"http:\/\/storytimewithmissmollie.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/flannel-friday-two-little-bluebirds.html\" title=\"What Happens in Storytime: Two Little Bluebirds\" target=\"_blank\">Two Little Bluebirds<\/a>&#8230;but she snuck in some red birds, too, I notice! She also links to a new-to-me clip art source, always a good find! <\/p>\n<p>Monica at Ram Sam Storytime adapts a little-too-long <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ramsamstorytime.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/body-parts-but-not-zombies.html\" title=\"Ram Sam Storytime: Body Parts (but not zombies)\" target=\"_blank\">Liberian folktale<\/a> with some AMAZING body parts shapes. (No zombies, she promises.)<\/p>\n<p>Sharon takes a ride in the wayback machine to the very first Flannel Friday post she wrote for Rain Makes Applesauce. It just so happened to be a part of the very first Flannel Friday Round Up! You could use almost any book as a starting point for a game like this!
