Bold pictures, repetitive text, simple story.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>FLANNEL SONG: A Hunting We Will Go*<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>I tried to use animals that were in Little White Fish: fish\/dish, whale\/pail, crab\/cab.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>SONG: Three Little Fishies<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>I love this song, it always makes me happy to sing the doot-doots. While I was researching versions and hand-motions, I came across <a href=\"http:\/\/kids-and-music.blogspot.com\/\">Miss Marilee&#8217;s Music<\/a>, a site with some great videos of kids singing songs as well as some super music-and-movement ideas! Here&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/kids-and-music.blogspot.com\/2009\/10\/3-little-fishies.html\">Miss Marilee&#8217;s video<\/a> and this is the version I wound up singing today:<\/em> <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Down in the meadow in a little bitty pool<br \/>\nLived 3 little fishies and their momma fishy too<br \/>\n\u201cSwim,\u201d said the momma fish, \u201cSwim if you can!\u201d<br \/>\nAnd they swam and they swam right over the dam.<\/p>\n<p>Doot doot dittum dattum wattum choo<br \/>\nDoot doot dittum dattum wattum choo<br \/>\nDoot doot dittum dattum wattum choo<br \/>\nAnd they swam and they swam right over the dam.<\/p>\n<p>Stop! Acting out opposites helps them understand their meanings. Understanding differences is the first step to being able to recognize and understand the differences in how the letters look!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>ACTIVITY: Roll, Roll, Sugar Babies<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/flavors.me\/readingchick#\/wordpress_ac4\">Reading Chick<\/a> for teaching me this one!<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Roll roll sugar babies<br \/>\nRoll roll sugar babies<br \/>\n<em>Roll babies hands over each other like Wheels on the Bus<\/em><br \/>\nPush<br \/>\n<em>Gently push baby&#8217;s arms&#8230;lean forward or back if they are sitting on your lap, or pull on their arms if they are lying on their backs.
